Terms of Service - Torn Profile Link Formatter

Please read these Terms of Service ("ToS") carefully before using the Torn Profile Link Formatter (the "Script"). This ToS governs your use of the Script and its optional interaction with the TornStats API.

1. Introduction

The Torn Profile Link Formatter is a browser-based userscript designed to simplify sharing player information on Torn. It adds a "Copy" button to player profiles and lists, allowing for one-click copying of pre-formatted player links. The script also includes an opt-in feature to integrate with TornStats (www.tornstats.com) to include battle statistics in the copied text.

By installing and using the Script, you agree to be bound by this ToS. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Script.

2. API Key and Data Handling

The optional TornStats integration requires you to provide your TornStats API key. The following table outlines how your API key and related data are handled:

Data Storage (Will the data be stored for any purpose?)	Only locally: All script settings, including your TornStats API key, are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage via your userscript manager (e.g., Tampermonkey).
Data Sharing (Who can access the data besides the end user?)	Nobody: The Script does not send your API key or any personal data to any external servers or third parties. Integration Note: When you enable the Battle Stats feature, the script will cause your browser to make a direct API request to TornStats, sending them the User ID of the profile you are viewing. This interaction is subject to the TornStats Terms of Service.
Purpose of Use (What is the stored data being used for?)	The locally stored data is used solely to enable the Script's functionalities: Remembering your format preferences. Using your TornStats API key to fetch battle stats for display and copying, which provides a Competitive advantage. Not eligible for external analysis - only the end user has access to their settings.
Key Storage & Sharing (Will the API key be stored securely and who can access it?)	Stored locally / Not shared: Your TornStats API key is stored locally and securely within your browser's script execution environment. It is never shared. The key is only used by your browser to authenticate requests with the TornStats API.
Key Access Level (What key access level or specific selections are required?)	TornStats API Key: This script does not use your main Torn API key. It uses a separate API key generated on the TornStats website. The key only needs permission to access the `spy` endpoint on TornStats.

3. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the security of your TornStats API key.
By enabling the TornStats integration, you understand and agree to the data sharing interaction described above and agree to the TornStats Terms of Service.
The author of the Script is not responsible for any issues arising from your use of the TornStats service.

4. Disclaimer of Liability

The Torn Profile Link Formatter is provided "as is" without any warranties.
The author shall not be liable for any damages resulting from the use of the Script.
You use this script at your own risk. Every effort is made to ensure compliance with Torn's rules.

5. Changes to Terms of Service

The author reserves the right to modify this ToS at any time. Your continued use of the Script after revisions signifies your acceptance of the new terms.

6. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, enabling, or using the Torn Profile Link Formatter, you signify your acceptance of this Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Script.
